Dinh Quan district has over 11,000 hectares of cashew trees, many of which are old, so the profits are very low. The project of large fields of cocoa associated with production and consumption, invested by Trong Duc Co., Ltd., has attracted many farmers to participate in planting cocoa trees in old cashew orchards, contributing to increasing revenues. enter for farmers.

  Trong Duc Cocoa Co., Ltd has signed a cooperation agreement with Atlantic Vietnam Trade Co., Ltd. (ACOM) to open the Dong Nai Cocoa Development Center (CDC) in Dinh Quan district with a total operating cost of 3 years estimated at about 160 thousand USD. According to Mr. Nguyen Tuan Vuong - ACOM's Chief Executive of Cocoa, the establishment of CDC aims to build a center to provide standard knowledge on planting procedures. Thereby, helping farmers increase productivity, increase quality of cocoa, gradually ensure that products meet export standards. CDC also aims to build a core team of local technicians, build a high-yield cocoa garden and expand the area.

Mr. Nguyen Quy Tuan (living in Gia Canh commune) once considered cutting down 2 hectares of family cocoa to switch to other crops because the output of this crop is quite precarious. But when an enterprise invested a large field project for cocoa in the district with many practical support programs for farmers such as: supporting 30% of the cost of buying seedlings and installing self-watering systems. dynamic; provide guidance on techniques of planting and tending trees, especially dealing with diseases on cocoa trees ...

Mr. Tuan not only joined but also encouraged many other farmers to keep and develop more cocoa area. This is also the premise for Cocoa Cooperative - Article Dinh Quan was established. Mr. Nguyen Quy Tuan (now the Director of Cocoa - Dinh Quan Cooperative) compared that when it was just established, the cooperative had only more than 10 hectares of intercropped cocoa but now it has increased to nearly 100 hectares and both Certified UTZ (certified to ensure sustainable production according to international standards).

Farmers are very active in the project because the product is underwritten by the enterprise at a price higher than the market average. “Farmers believe that participating in the program is entitled to many supportive policies, especially training and guidance in the garden on caring techniques and disease prevention for plants. Thanks to that, the productivity of cocoa garden next year is higher than the previous year, profit also increases ”- Mr. Tuan said.

Also a farmer attached to cocoa trees from the very first days of the formation of a large cocoa field project, Mr. Pham Van Cuong in Ngoc Dinh Commune said that the enterprise had a team of technicians on the garden guide. farmers applied the   technique to control integrated pests on cocoa trees in a safe way. Promote processing and exporting

Mr. Dang Tuong Khanh -   Director of Trong Duc Cocoa Co., Ltd shared that, if previously, hundreds of hectares of Dong Nai cocoa trees, once erased due to precarious outputs, now become crops for income. Thanks to businesses and farmers, they have joined hands to build big fields. In particular, cooperatives play a very important role in forming sustainable linkages because production enterprises cannot work with each individual farmer but need through cooperatives to gather farmers. .

Also according to Mr. Khanh, the project of large cocoa fields invested by enterprises in Dong Nai has developed 468 hectares. Enterprises will continue to expand this area because the current supply of cocoa only meets part of the processing development needs of enterprises. “So far, Trong Duc has invested millions of USD in its processing plant as well as in the material area. This is only the first phase, businesses are continuing to invest in production as well as expanding distribution channels in both domestic and international markets, ”Mr. Khanh said.
